Sometimes life timing doesn’t line up perfectly with bringing a puppy home. Maybe you have a vacation planned, travel coming up, or simply want your puppy to have a little extra foundation before joining your household.
Our Puppy Kindergarten Academy allows your puppy to stay with us for a few extra weeks while we begin introducing some of the early building blocks of training.
A Strong Start Before Puppy Comes Home
Planning a summer vacation or the timing isn’t quite right, but still dreaming of bringing home a new puppy? We’ve got you covered!
Our Puppy Kindergarten Academy is the perfect solution for families who want to reserve a puppy *now*, but worry about leaving them at a boarding facility or with a sitter during vacation. Instead of going home at 8 weeks of age, your puppy remains here with us for an additional four weeks in our home environment. During that time we begin gently introducing the early foundations of training and daily routines so your puppy gets a head start before joining your family.

Early Training & Life Skills
WHAT WE WORK ON
During Puppy Kindergarten we begin introducing several important foundations:
- Crate introduction and short crate sessions
- Beginning potty training routines
- Basic obedience foundations
- Leash introduction and manners
- Car rides and new experiences
- Continued socialization
- Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming
These early experiences help puppies become more confident and better prepared for their transition into a new home.
This training program INTRODUCES basic manners, the potty/crate training process, basic commands, and builds a solid foundation for continued training after going home with you. It is perfect for families that want a head start on the training process.
These pups are like kindergartners. They have learned the basics but still need help and to do things correctly.
They’ve started potty training and can hold it for about 45 minutes in the house—pretty impressive for a little pup! They’re getting the hang of short crate sessions, sleeping through the night and are starting to learn leash manners, how to play nicely with others, basic obedience, and the oh-so-important art of fetch.
Like most puppies, their attention span is… well, let’s just say it’s a work in progress. One minute they’re nailing it, the next they’re completely distracted by a leaf. So patience is key!
SETTING EXPECTATIONS
This Is a Foundation — Not a Finished Product
Puppy Kindergarten provides a strong start, but it is not intended to produce a fully trained puppy.
These puppies are still babies. They will absolutely continue to need structure, consistency, and continued training once they arrive in their new homes.
The goal of the program is to introduce good habits and build early understanding so families can continue developing those skills as the puppy grows.
Learning to Communicate with Your Puppy
A big part of puppy training is learning how to communicate clearly with your dog. Puppies learn quickly when owners understand how to guide them with consistent leadership, praise, and correction when needed.
While you’re waiting for your puppy to come home, we strongly encourage families to begin watching some puppy training resources so you feel confident continuing the process.

Puppy Kindergarten Enrollment
Puppy Kindergarten is $1500 and is due at the time of puppy pick-up.
The remaining puppy balance is due at 8 weeks of age.
Because puppies remain in our home and receive daily attention and training, spaces are limited.
